Thanks to the on-going support from both local as well as international business travelers; the Blue Crane Guest House has evolved into a popular corporate destination. As a result of that, we are in a position to offer very competitive corporate room rates throughout the year, irrespective of the season. During low season we offer long term rentals, subject to availability.
Boycott ESKOM – Our new solar PV system with an integrated back-up battery pack ensures that the internet stays connected at all times, essential lights stay on and security is maintained.
Early corporate breakfast, served between 07h30* and 08h30, together with late check-in times, uncapped high-speed wireless internet access, air-conditioned rooms with a small desktop, TV news-channel, free coffee & tea and separate entrances have become trademark services associated with the Blue Crane Guest House (*Earlier breakfast by arrangement).
Our easy access to all major routes and venues as a result of the central position also ensures that we are in close proximity to numerous top restaurants and bistros.
An in-house shuttle to and from the nearby restaurants is available between 18h00 and 22h00, making this a popular dinner arrangement for guests who require accommodation including supper. Depending on their respective dinner allowance we will advise guests where to best satisfy their taste buds and make all the arrangements.

Five luxuriously furnished double en-suite bedrooms, all with separate entrances, make up the exclusive accommodation offered at the Blue Crane Guest House.
Modern Air Conditioning Units for heating and cooling are standard in the rooms and every room has a private bathroom, fully tiled and with a generous walk in shower.
The tastefully decorated rooms all have in-house Cable-TV (6 pre-selected satellite channels and 4 free-to-air channels) and are furnished with extra-length king-sized beds (twin-beds are available on request). Every room has a hairdryer, a small safe and a fully equipped kitchenette including microwave, bar fridge as well as coffee and tea making facilities. Two rooms are available with cooking facilities,
The generously dimensioned guestrooms have comfortable seating and their own private garden patio furnished with a table and chairs, offering guests an exclusive outdoor living area. There are demarcated smoking areas as smoking inside the rooms is strictly forbidden.

The Blue Crane is owner-managed by the husband and wife team, Brigitte and Werner Pagels, In operation since March 2004, it was awarded a 4 star grading in 2009 by the Grading Council of South Africa.
Off street parking is provided and a separate entrance to each guest room ensures that guests can come and go as they please. Situated in the quiet, safe and secure Parel Vallei residential area, guests can relax in unsurpassed privacy.
The very private and lush garden, pool and covered pool patio with BBQ facilities are exclusively for the guest’s use.
For the B&B guests a sensational continental breakfast buffet as well as English breakfast is served between 07h00 and 09h30 daily in the breakfast room.
Werner, a qualified and registered Tour Guide, will freely assist with detailed planning and advice in order to customize any self driven itinerary. His knowledge of South Africa is an unmatched travel guide. Alternatively join him on one of his personal day tours.
During the day Brigitte will personally oversee the housekeeping, gladly arrange bookings for golf courses, car rentals, shark-cage diving, local restaurants, helicopter rides and all other requests in order to ensure that guests enjoy an exclusive and super holiday.

Green living at the Blue Crane
At the Blue Crane we promote responsible tourism and leave no stone unturned in our quest to reduce our CO2 footprint. We continuously re-invest with the aim to promote sustainability wherever possible.
Solar:
Since 2014 the Blue Crane Guest House has a state of the art in-house solar PV system with an integrated back-up battery pack ensuring that the internet stays connected al all times, essential lights stay on and security is maintained. Surplus solar power is harvested and supplies electricity to lights and essential loads at night.
Water heating:
900 Litre solar geysers provide the bulk of our hot water requirements. Our ceramic, wood-burning fireplaces are coupled to a water-heat exchange, supplementing water heating during the winter months.
Heating:
Most of our rooms have the latest technology of infra-red panel heaters. Not only is radiant heating through infra-red a very efficient form of heating, but it is also considered to be the healthiest heating available.
In our breakfast room we have a close combustion fireplace, fired with alien blue gum wood. The ceramic heat-storing fireplace is very eco-friendly and the harnessed energy radiates healthy heat long after the fire has gone out.
Borehole and grey Water:
Our borehole provides high quality water which undergoes a 5 stage filtration before it is tied into our water system for toilets, laundry and showers. Although we use borehole water, we strongly encourage our guests to use the water sparingly.
Our water wise garden is watered with re-cycled “light grey” water which is collected from shower and bath outlets. Besides being water wise. our indigenous plants attract a lot of bird life and also squirrels. Fresh fruit, harvested from a variety of fruit trees, is also used for our fruit salad in the breakfast room.
Recycling:
Our housekeeping staff has been trained to separate all waste and we strongly encourage our guests to help us minimise our refuse through recycling.

Directions
From Cape Town International, follow the N2 due East to Somerset West. Exit the N2 onto the R44 towards Stellenbosch. At the first major intersection (Lord Charles Hotel), turn right onto SOMERSET MAIN ROAD. Follow the Main Road and at the 4th traffic light turn due East into the well-marked LOURENFORD STREET (the same road that will take you to the historic Vergelegen Winery, Helderberg Nature Reserve as well as Erinvale Golf Estate). About 400m into Lourensford Road you will reach a traffic circle, where you turn left into Parel Vallei Road. Follow “Parel Vallei” for a short while and then proceed through the eucalyptus avenue for another 800m, the Blue Crane Guest House is at number 81 on your left.
